Hello, my name is Adriana and I am going to tell you about my first day at the animal shelter and why I chose the animal shelter to complete my community service hours.
Ever since I was a little girl I loved animals. I love every single animal you can think of, from the big dangerous ones to the small and cuddly ones. I show love to every animal. Even though I may be afraid of an animal, that doesn't make me dislike the animal. Since I am so interested in animals and I love them so much, I chose to work at the Animal Shelter to complete my community service hours.
The reason I chose the animal shelter is because I know for a fact that I am going to enjoy working there, even if it is a messy job to do. I don't mind getting messy because I am helping the Animal Shelter and I get to spend more time with the animals and have fun with them. Working at the Animal Shelter is a great place to interact with the animals, and sometimes you can learn something different about the animal.
My first day at the animal shelter wasn't bad at all. I thought that I would have been confused and not know what to do. When I reached that day, I wasn't nervous at all and I felt comfortable around the animals. I have to admit, the first day I was a bit confused with the puppy playing time chart. My friend was there that same day, and she knew what to do, so I just followed whatever she did, and I think I got the picture of what I have to do.
My favorite animal is the dog, so I really liked the fact that I was put to take care of the puppies. The puppies were very energetic, I loved that. I love playing with the puppies, even though they may slightly bite you, but i didn't mind. I do it every day at home with my dogs but they are so big they sometimes knock me down. So playing with the puppies is one job I certainly like at the animal shelter.
I am not just working at the Animal Shelter to just complete my community service hours and get it over with, I also am interacting with the different animals and having a good time. I don't mind coming to the animal shelter to volunteer at all, as long as I still have time for school work, then I will come any day that they need a volunteer.
